I finally returned home last night.
I realized that I am already an expert in Japanese behaviors. I was able to act like a Japanese when I say "excuse me" to people when I was about to bump into a person in the crowded street. No wonder, I grew up and worked in this country until the age of 29.
I ate dinner, took a bath, and talked to my mother last night. Not bad to be back to join my family again. In the US I was all alone. When I returned to my apartment or room at any time of the day, I expected no one waiting for me. I did not have a key to this home in Tokyo, but my mother was waiting for me.
I was able to fall asleep at midnight and woke up at 6 A.M. this morning. My biological time should must have been from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M., but I slept tight. I must have been very tired from 'moving' activities--trashing, selling, sending, and saying good-bye to my friends and US.
I watched a few Japanese TV programs. Mr. Matsuki (Ecological farming, 50 yrs old, French restaurant manager...) successfuly his new phase of life with agriculture. It was impressive. Another guy (8th generation Futon company, innovative way of recycling futon as sodai gomi) also gave me the impression that the Japanese culture is very highly densed with a lot of smart people.
